Rose Garcia is a lawyer turned writer who's always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy. From a very young age, she often had her nose buried in books about other-worlds, fantastical creatures, and life and death situations. More recently she's been intrigued by a blend of science fiction and reality, and the idea that some supernatural events are, indeed, very real. Fueled by her imagination, she created The Transhuman Chronicles--a series of books about people who have overcome human limitations.

Rose lives in Houston with her husband and two kids. You can visit Rose at

Praise for Final Life…

“Rose Garcia will explode your mind with action packed scenes and emotional turmoil.” - Moonlight Book Reviews

“The whole transhuman concept had the whole Sci-Fi/Fantasy element going on, yet Rose Garcia has written it in a way that is both fresh and believable, with the classic good versus evil theme incorporated.” - Always YA at Heart

“Final Life is filled with magical moments, heart aching moments, action, and suspense. I look forward to the next chapter of Dominique’s story.” - WinterHaven Books

Cold seeped into my tired and achy bones as we drove away from our Houston home for the last time. Rain drizzled against the car windows. Thick, gray clouds filled the sky. The humming of the car lulled my mind until it became lost in the memory of the last two months.

My parents were Transhumans, or energy beings known as Pures, part of a race of humans that existed before mankind. Tavion, an evil Transhuman and leader of the Tainted, had marked me for death. He had even killed me in each of my past lives, but in this life, my final life, I had defeated him. And even though I had won, I didn’t feel like the winner. Instead, I felt empty. Lost. Like I wasn’t me anymore. Because I wasn’t. Too much had happened. Too many had died—because of me.

“You okay?” Farrell whispered.

I studied his perfectly angular features and sympathetic green eyes before shifting away and staring out the backseat window. According to Farrell, in each of my eight lives he’d fallen in love with me, and I had loved him back. But I didn’t remember any of it. Even though flashes of memories of him would come to me now and again, and strong emotions for him had bubbled to the surface, they didn’t belong to me. Instead, they belonged to another version of me. Someone who didn’t exist anymore.

“I’m fine,” I muttered. I ran my fingertips over the rough bandages that covered my hand, my dry skin catching on the fabric. The only me that existed was the one who had sliced open her hand, covered her dagger with her blood, and plunged it into Tavion’s chest and killed him; the one who had shared a passionate kiss with Trent Avila—a normal guy I’d never see again. I closed my eyes for a moment and pictured his face in my mind. Tan skin, brown hair with long bangs that hung into his deep blue eyes. His grandmother had given me the bloodstone cross that hung around my neck, and without it, I wouldn’t have been able to defeat Tavion. Sadly, Trent would never know because Farrell had erased his memory.

Memory erased… That was it! A sliver of hope sprang in me. I’d ask Farrell to do that to me—wipe my mind. After all, he was my protector, and if erasing my life and starting over would help me, he’d have to do it. I snuck a glance his way. He rubbed his hands on his jeans and grabbed his knees. Emotional pain etched across his face. If only he didn’t remember our past lives, our lost love, things would be easier for him. But he remembered everything, they all did. I was the only one who didn’t. And that’s when it hit me. He needed his memory erased, too. Like the Men in Black movies. Flash a bright light in our eyes, insert a new memory, and live happily ever after.

If only…

Cover Reveal for Dear Cassie by Lisa Burstein

I'm thrilled to be a part of the Dear Cassie cover reveal for the awesome Lisa Burstein! Here's her cover:

Isn't it gorgeous! And here's the info about the awesome author and the amazing book. Enjoy!

Lisa Burstein is a tea seller by day and a writer by night. She received her MFA in Fiction from the Inland Northwest Center for Writers at Eastern Washington University. She lives in Portland, OR, with her very patient husband, a neurotic dog and two cats. Dear Cassie is her second novel.

DEAR CASSIE official Blurb:

What if the last place you should fall in love is the first place that you do?

You’d think getting sent to Turning Pines Wilderness Camp for a month-long rehabilitation “retreat” and being forced to re-live it in this journal would be the worst thing that’s ever happened to me.

You’d be wrong.

There’s the reason I was sent to Turning Pines in the first place: I got arrested. On prom night. With my two best friends, who I haven’t talked to since and probably never will again. And then there’s the real reason I was sent here. The thing I can’t talk about with the guy I can’t even think about.

What if the moment you’ve closed yourself off is the moment you start to break open?

But there’s this guy here. Ben. And the more I swear he won’t—he can’t—the deeper under my skin he’s getting. After the thing that happened, I promised I’d never fall for another boy’s lies.

And yet I can’t help but wonder…what if?

DEAR CASSIE excerpt:

We kept walking on the lake trail, the bullfrogs croaking. There was also a humming in my ears from the nicotine.

It could only be from the nicotine. It had nothing to do with being outside, at night, alone with Ben. It had nothing to do with Ben coming to the cabin and taking me instead of Nez and it definitely had nothing to do with the stars above us shining like they were the sky’s tiara.

I stopped on the trail and looked up, taking them in, when all of a sudden bright colored lights exploded in the sky—fireworks, one after another, on top of each other, huge kaleidoscopes of light, like sparkling rainbow spiders.

“How did you know?” I asked, my voice going softer, like if I talked too loudly they would stop. It was so beautiful, after weeks of so much ugly.

Ben turned to look at me, the colored lights in the sky turning his skin pink, blue, green. “I’m magic.” He shrugged.

I geared up to tell him to fuck off, because that was some corny-ass shit, but then I realized that he really kind of was. In that moment he was able to actually make me forget being me.

“I would try to kiss you,” he said, “but I’m afraid you’d kick me in the balls.”

“I probably would.” I laughed, the sky filling with noisy color like paint launching from a giant popcorn popper. “But like I said, it wouldn’t be about you.”

“I guess I’ll have to figure out how to make it about me,” he said, taking off his boots and socks and standing. “Come on.”

“There is no way I am getting near that water again,” I said.

“I’ll make sure nothing happens to you,” he said, holding his hand out to help me up.

I looked at his palm, open, waiting, just wanting to hold mine. For once, I didn’t think about anything except that there was a cute, sweet, smart-ass boy standing in front of me with his hand out.

I pulled off my boots and socks and took it.

We stood at the lakeshore, our hands still clasped, the water licking our feet, fireworks decorating the sky.

I turned to him. He was looking up, his mouth open in wonder like he was trying to swallow the moment.

It was definitely one worth keeping.

Meet YA Paranormal Writer Jesse Kimmel-Freeman

Welcome to my author Meet and Greet, featuring YA paranormal writer, Jesse Kimmel-Freeman. She's super awesome. Enjoy!

Q. Tell me about the book you're promoting.

Well, how about I tell you what I'm working to finish? I'm almost done with my NaNo project, Network Deserted. Which is a YA book that follows 4 teens that are trying to escape the Network and ultimately end up on the side they were supposed to be fighting. And I'm trying to get the third book in my Bella Vampire Series, Bella Tristezza, finished. The first book is Bella Notte, which was my debut book. Here's the blurb for that one: Vampires? Check. Werewolves? Check. Death prophecy to hang over your head? Double check. Seventeen-year-old Emma Hutchinson struggles to find her place in the world she has been born to as she tries to decide whether she should be with Michael, the boy she has been dreaming about since she was three or if she belongs with Dominic, her betrothed.

Q. How did you come up with the idea for this book?

The NaNo project sprung up from something my husband told me to try and get my kick started on my NaNo writing, but it has nothing to do with what he originally told me. LOL. Isn't that the way it always works out? The Bella Vampires Series started because Bella Notte was the book I wanted to read at the time and there weren't any on the market like it yet.

Q. Do any of the characters symbolize something or someone in real life?

I think that the characters in most of my books are bits and pieces of the people I've come into contact with in real life. Those that truly made an impression. You know, for the better and worse. My best friends says that my main female characters usually have a lot of me in them- even if I don't see it.

Q. Who are your favorite authors?

Um, that's a hard one. I have a lot of favorite books, but not necessarily authors. Like I love He, She, and It, but I've never read any of her other works.

Q. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one book, what would it be and why?

The Awakening by Kate Chopin! I feel kind of like the guy in Conspiracy Theory about that book. But I can't explain it. I have to have a copy of it. It was one of those books that seemed to cause an awakening within me as well.

Jesse now lives in a small town in the middle of nowhere. She moved from the chaos of Los Angeles. Yes, she misses it. It is not uncommon for her to be asked why she moved from such a busy place to the one horse town- the answer is simply to allow her kids to grow up with their grandparents.

Jesse has studied anthropology and used her “education” as an excuse to hang out with vampires- her masters' thesis was going to be modern vampire culture. They really do exist. Vampires have been her obsession since she was about five years old when she swears she was bitten by one.

She enjoys reading and writing. But most importantly being a crazy mom to her son, new daughter, and ever growing pet family. Singing silly songs at the top of her lungs and embarrassing her son is one of her favorite activities. She considers herself to be an odd duck.

Her books and her blog can be found at You can follow her on Twitter HERE, and on Facebook HERE.

And here are her book covers:

Check Out This Awesome Dragon Anthology

Ever heard of Xchyler Publishing (XP)? If not, you're about to! They're a new independent publishing house focusing on Paranormal, Steampunk, Mystery, and Fantasy. I've been following them on twitter and this cool dragon anthology that they've just released caught my eye.

Here's the gorgeous cover:

And here's the blurb:

Forged in flame, wrought in blood, bone and steel, from the bowels of the earth and the inner most chambers of the heart, dragons arise. Fired by their passion, inspired by legend, six talented storytellers delve into realms of myth and fantasy as they explore what it means to be human.

First Flight by Samuel Mayo: Vanderson Egilhard yearns to fly, but when he discovers his father’s secret, the fate of his family and perhaps the world falls into his young hands.

A Dragon’s Honor by Brian Collier: When ancient alliances fail and friends stand alone to face certain doom, one dark secret and Calrym’s courage spell the utter destruction or dawning new age of two failing nations.

Birth Pains by Eric White: Bellalinde made a terrible sacrifice for love. Years later, her choice sends her and her granddaughter on a journey from which only one can return.

Golden Legacy by Jana Boskey: Hated, hunted, marked for extermination, when a young assassin hunts down Zachariah, he must decide which of them truly deserves to live.

Heart of Steel by Caitlin McColl: When murder steals his wife from Gideon Hendry, lust for revenge fires his passions. Only his fantastic creations know if he can escape his obsession before it seals his fate.

A Chink In The Armor by D. Robert Pease: Blessed by the gods, Job has never lost a battle. He has triumphed over every challenge from man and nature. Arrogant? Yes, but he's invincible. Or is he?

Cover Reveal for New Adult (NA) Author Victoria H. Smith

I'm so happy to help Victoria H. Smith introduce her book cover for The Crimson Hunt to the world! The book is a New Adult Science Fiction Romance and is slated for release November 12th. Below is the cover. Isn't it gorgeous?!

And here's the blurb:

College junior Ariel Richmond is working on year three of Project Normalcy.

Her house reeks of keggers past and her bestie is just a slight bit vulgar. But the thing is—they both aid in making life refreshingly uneventful.

So much for hard-earned mediocrity when Luca Grinaldi appears on the scene.

Luca’s sudden presence on campus is hard to ignore. Those bright eyes act like a beacon to unsuspecting females, and with features like his, he’s got to be moonlighting for GQ. Luca hopelessly captivates Ariel with his confidence and charisma, but the mysteries surrounding him make him nearly untouchable. And just when Ariel grows close enough to unlock his secrets, a tragic event sends her life in a downward spiral.

That steady life is no longer an option and allies quickly become scarce. The mysterious Luca seems to be the only one willing to help her—but with that trust comes the burden of his secrets. He has a dark mission of otherworldly proportions, and is willing to sacrifice as many lives as it takes to see it completed.

Gone are the days of simply maintaining normalcy, and if Ariel isn’t cautious with her trust, so soon may be her future.

And here's Victoria's bio:

Victoria H. Smith has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She puts it to good use writing romance all day. She resides in the Midwest with her Macbook on her lap and a cornfield to her right. She often draws inspiration for her stories from her own life experiences, and the twenty-something characters she writes give her an earful about it.

In her free time, she enjoys extreme couponing, blogging, reading, and sending off a few tweets on Twitter when she can. She writes new adult fiction romance in the sub-genres of science fiction, urban fantasy, and contemporary, but really, anywhere her pen takes her she goes.

You can follow Victoria on twitter HERE, read her blog HERE, visit her on Facebook HERE, and visit her Goodreads Page HERE.

Thanks, and happy reading!!

Cover Reveal for YA Author Tiffany King

Tiffany King writes Young Adult Fiction. She has published six books in the last two years! (I'm so wow'd by this!) You can buy her book HERE on Amazon, HERE on Barnes and Noble, and you can get to know her over HERE on Goodreads.

She is currently working on a new book, Miss Me Not, slated for release later this year. The cover is below. Isn't it beautiful!

And here's the blurb:

They had a pact. Leave the world behind much as they had lived it. No one would miss them. No harm, no foul. Their personal demons would be left behind once and for all. It was the only thing they could count on. It was all she had.

Madison Hanson has spent the last four years being a "shadow." Her parents ignore her. The students at her school stopped talking to her years ago, and the majority of her teachers forget she's even there. In her desperate yearning to leave her invisible life behind, Madison makes a pact with her only friend, James Garrison, to end their lives as inconspicuously as they live them. No fuss, no muss. No one would miss her, and she would miss no one. Their plan is set, and it's all she can count on. That is, until fellow student, Mitch Peterson, beats them to the punch. Everything Madison believed in is shaken to the core when she watches the aftermath of Mitch's death unfold. By taking his own life, Mitch unwittingly saves hers. What a selfish prick.

She is now left with the daunting task of living. Trying to bury her demons once and for all, and finally trusting someone with her fragile existence.

Living is hell. Death would have been so much easier.

Meet YA Author London Cole

Welcome to Five Question Tuesday featuring YA author, London Cole. He's super cool, and a terrific writer. Enjoy!

Q. Tell me about the book you're promoting.

Whisper's Edge is the sequel to Whisper Walker, picking up mere days after WW  left off. It tackles the relationship between the two main characters, Drake and Kelsie, a little more than the first book and gives the reader a front row seat to them adjusting to their new "features," in a sense (I hate to say "powers" because that isn't entirely accurate and is quite cliche).

Here's the blurb for the book: Drake and Kelsie quickly discover life won't be quite the same after getting their new abilities, but they hope everything will settle into a sort of normalcy. It doesn't take long for them to realize it's not the kind of normalcy they were hoping for.

When Kelsie joins Drake for a routine Hunt, they end up stumbling upon an underground bunker that hasn't been opened in nearly a century. When they meet a far-too-friendly ghost, it should be the first indicator to leave things alone and get out of there. Never ones to resist the opportunity for excitement or mystery, they end up in a situation that could cost them dearly--threatening not only everything they've worked for, but their very lives!

Drake's world is turned upside down. A mysterious new girl seems intent on capturing his heart, but that's not all she's after.

Kelsie faces betrayal by the one she holds most dear, only to meet someone new who could change her entire existence; past, present, and future. If only she can stay alive long enough to find out the truth...

Q. How did you come up with the idea for this book?

Ooh, toughie. Everyone always asks this one, yet I'm always unsure how to answer... Honestly, a lot of the key locations are pretty much real places that I grew up with (on Whidbey Island, WA). So, when walking down memory lane, or looking through old pictures, the scenes mostly unfold in my head when I see the location.

Q. Do any of the characters symbolize someone or something in real life?

I could get in trouble for answering this one. ;) Hehe. Drake (the main guy) is simply a composite of various guys. Kelsie (the main girl) on the other hand, is very much molded after what I love in a girl. She's strong, reasonably independent, and kicks major ass. In short, she's based off a few girl's I've had the pleasure of knowing. I really like strong female leads. The soft, pushover types--like the MC from a very popular sparkly vampire movie--annoy me. I find it unpleasant to try reading a book with clingy, emotionally stunted, socially inept lead girl. That's not a good role model for girls to have.

Q. Who are your favorite authors?

Richelle Meade, Kevin Hearne, Lindsay Buroker, Amy Plum, Kiersten White, Patrick Rothfuss, Amanda Hocking, I could just keep going. But, my current favorite that I can't get enough of is Lindsay Buroker.

Q. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have one book, what would it be and why?

The Wise Man's Fear, by Patrick Rothfuss. Because it's highly entertaining, extremely well written, and it's REALLY freakin' long. Like 400,000 words long. That's roughly four regular novels. It would keep me happy for awhile. :)

Though, in all practicality, I'd have to say SAS Survival Handbook, by John Wiseman. I mean seriously. I'd need all the help I could get on that island.

Thanks for the interview, London!

Below you'll find the cover for Whisper's Edge, as well as a full bio on London. Click here to follow London on twitter, here to see his website and blog, here to visit his Goodreads page, and here to visit his author FB page.  You can also purchase his books here on Amazon, here on Barnes and Noble, and here on Kobo.

London Cole Bio

London Cole is a YA Paranormal author living in East Texas, US. When he's not writing he can be found doing laps in his pool, playing a rock concert, or any of a variety of outdoor extreme sports.

London's debut Whisper Walker is a Dystopian Paranormal based on the island he was raised on, Whidbey Island. Only, it's the island eighty years after the Third World War, and everything is a lot different...and a lot meaner.

The sequel to Whisper Walker, Whisper's Edge, is out NOW!

Check out this awesome review for Final Life!

If you check out my Amazon page here, my author Goodreads page here, and my Barnes and Noble page here, you'll see that my book, Final Life, is getting some great reviews!! Yipeee!!  But when I recently read a review by Moonlight Book Reviews, I was completely blown away.

The review says, in part, Final Life by Rose Garcia is "twisted in a totally insane mind blowing cool way. The whole world Rose Garcia created made me think about the actual world I live in. Man, guys this book is a must pick up."

Cool huh? You can read the complete review here.

And in case you missed it, here's the awesome cover.
