Fall in Love with Hispanic Heroes

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated annually from September 15th to October 15th, and we are in the thick of it!

I am proud to be a Hispanic creative, and proud to share stories with Hispanic characters who reflect me and my family. But sharing Hispanic characters wasn't exactly a mission I was driven to accomplish, it just happened naturally! I'm not sure if that makes, so let me explain...

When I started writing Final Life way back when, my mission was to create an amazing love interest for Dominique. I named him Trent (Trenius) Avila and his personality and his background easily fell into place-- Hispanic, Catholic, muy guapo, living with his abuela, in tune with nature and spirits, affectionate, caring, and someone who values love and family above all else.

In essence, Trent is me and my Garcia family!

When I transitioned from the Final Life Series to the Fae Bloodlines Series, I made fae princess Celyse's love interest Trent's cousin. Thus, Julio Avila was born! With Julio, and later with his daughter Gabriela, I really let the light shine on this incredible Hispanic family. You will also meet their descendants in Bloodlines Legacy!

The Avilas, and the other side of their family, the Rodriguez family, are incredible and I have grown to love them with all my heart. I hope that as you get to read my books, you will fall in love with them too!
