Have you read Fae Away yet? I have SO many favorite scenes from the book, and this one is at the top of my list!
In this scene, Julio is preparing to go to Faevenly (he lives in Austin, Texas) and must be ready to face any threats that come his way. To help him get ready, he goes through special training from Leto, the fae dude that's been living in secret in the human realm.
Leto is a formidable fae, and he doesn't have much tolerance for humans. Their training session is filled with bows and arrows and blood and band-aids, lol. Check it out!

“When facing a foe,” he instructed as he kept the arrow taut, “it is of the utmost importance to be ready for anything.” He shifted his stance and swung his weapon around, aiming at my head. “Like this.”
I swallowed hard, my nerves skyrocketing, but kept still. “Uh, Leto, this isn’t cool.”
He kept his stance and held his aim. “Fae are ruthless, vengeful, and manipulative. We cannot lie, but we do not need to because we are cunning and devious. We are immortal, but not impervious to being killed. We are incredibly strong, but fall down to iron.”
I held up my hands in a defensive posture. “Why are you telling me this?”
“It is easier to defeat your enemy when you know your enemy.”
“Okay, I get it. I know the fae. Now freakin’ lower your weapon.”
Leto held his position. “If you give a fae your name, you give away your power. If a fae causes you to not know your name, you lose all sense of yourself. If a fae’s name is hidden and you know what it is, you can use it against the fae.”
If Leto wanted to give me a fae lesson while pointing a bow and arrow at my head, then the lesson sucked. And I wanted it to end. “Cut your shit, Leto.”
“What I am going to cut is your head…in two.” He pulled back the arrow even more. “Right between your eyes.”
