Now, on to my blog post! Here’s a list of some indie sci-fi books I was meaning to read before this blog was published; but alas, my February was just way too crammed and way too short. However, I am currently reading When Planets Fall by Abby J. Reed and LOVING IT!! Please check out this list and hopefully you’ll find something that will interest you!

smart and vivid

Breaker's home is cleaved by blood. The three tribes on the planet Scarlatti--whose only difference is their blood color--each want to exploit Breaker's valley for themselves. The feudal tension has already claimed red-blood Breaker's leg and his older brother. Now all Breaker wants is to maintain the tenuous peace in order to keep his little 'stroid of a brother alive.

Malani, a red-blood raised blue, is a kidnapped POW. She's determined to escape and return to her adoptive home. The secrets she carries could help the blue-bloods win... if they don't fall into the wrong hands.

Luka wants to right the wrongs done to his family. He'll do whatever it takes, and where Luka goes, trouble is never far behind.

With the discovery of a wrecked starship, these three paths intersect. They must band together if they want to survive the coming war.

full of twists

London is divided by a lethal barrier. Inside, the rich live in privilege. Outside, people starve and children are taken by the government.

Twelve years ago, Aleesha narrowly escaped capture when her mother mysteriously disappeared. Now she survives on her wits. But when a rebel organization called the Chain offers her the chance to uncover her mother’s fate and her father’s identity, she jumps at it.

Trey’s days are spent at an exclusive boarding school, until the government comes for him. On the run, he stumbles into a world of poverty and violence he never knew existed.

The Chain offers him safety—at a price. And soon he’s teaming up with Aleesha on an impossible mission. And when events take a devastating turn, Trey may be the only one who can save her.

gripping

After Jada Breaker’s best friend is murdered in a terrestrial terrorist attack, high school is the last thing on her mind. With a shocking piece of evidence in hand, she’s ready to launch her own investigation and find out the truth about her friend’s death.

When an unexpected competitor arrives from Earth to challenge Jada’s future and freedom, though, she’ll need an undivided mind to win the fight. If she continues her investigation, she’ll risk losing the future she’s always dreamed of.

But if Jada fails to learn the truth before graduation, a galaxy-wide conspiracy will grow unchecked and destroy everything she’s ever known...Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

original

Dr. Laney Carter is a Nobel-prize-winning physicist, awarded for her groundbreaking experimental research on string theory and quantum universes that led her team to develop the first working prototype allowing safe, stable and educational inter-dimension travel.

Two months ago, she disappeared. So did the prototype.

Now, government trackers are hunting down seventeen-year-old average high school student Laney Carter in this parallel universe. But this Laney is no genius. But maybe with the help of one tall, hot, and brooding Noah Donovan, she'll figure it out in time. Before all the worlds end.

Worlds Collide

Willow has never met a stranger. Never known the open sky. Never seen modern technology. The experimental world she was born into rests on rules and traditions that no one challenges—until her father’s shocking death places an invisible crown of power on her brother’s head. A coveted legacy that may be the very reason her father now lies dead.

Her brother risks banishment in a hunt for answers. A bold decision that leads them to a hidden communications room and to Fillion, a young man with a link to her family. Willow feels an immediate bond with the stranger. A connection that has haunted his dreams for years.

Everything about Fillion bends her reality and screams danger. He is the complete opposite of all that she has ever known and from a world she fears. Yet he is the only one who can decode the many cryptic secrets destroying her home.

Intriguing

Everyone Saytera knows can conjure fire, but all she can do is create darkness. In search for answers about her identity, she leaves her island only to find herself on the run and with no way to return home. She finds refuge in a military academy. Problem is, she can’t even fire a gun—they just don’t work with her. And nobody can know where she’s from and what she can do.

Dess lost everything when his family was killed years ago. Hiding his identity and seen as an orphan, he beat the odds and became the best cadet in his program. But that wasn't enough. Forced on a dangerous job, he’ll go down to the planet and risk his life in the hope of bringing peace to his moon.

But he can feel the starfire running through him. He knows there’s more, there's magic, and there are Terens, legendary beings who can manipulate fire. And destiny might just make him meet one. Problem is, she's his enemy.
